Fried Cinnamon Apple Rings

About the Recipe


  • 3-4 large apples

  • oil for frying


  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 large egg


  • 1/2 cup white Sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


  1. In a medium size bowl mix together flour, baking powder,salt, cinnamon and sugar.

  2. In a small bowl stir the buttermilk and egg tgether

  3. Dump your buttermilk and egg into the flour mixture and stir together.

  4. In a smallbowl combine the cinnamon and sugar for the topping then dump on a plate and set aside

  5. Slice your apples into thin rounf slices about 1/4 inch thick

  6. Cut out the core. Discard ot save for wine or apple cider vinegar

  7. Dip your apple sclices into the batter allowing excess to drip off

  8. Put a few slices into the hot oil frying pan

  9. Allow to cook about 2 minutes total. Flipping halfway to brown on both sides

  10. Remove and place on paper towel to remove excess oil

  11. Dip slices in to the plate of cinnamon and sugar

  12. Serve hot
