Natural Indigo Dying with Alpaca Yarn

Service Description

The class fee of $60.00 will include: Fresh Picked Indigo leaves and 1 skein of our 2022 white Alpaca Yarn. You will learn how to harvest and prepare the leaves, tie the skein of yarn and immerse your own skein in the cold water Indigo vat and dye. The magic happens when the dyed yarn is removed from the dye vat and exposed to sunlight and air. The Indigo dyed yarn will morph from green to blue. The results will vary from blue to turquoise depending on the wind and sunlight available that day. The results will be unique to this batch. Each blender will be enough to dye one 200 yd skein of yarn ( or 2 skeins at most). The class size will be limited. 2nd skein available for purchase (depending on yarn availability) STBD) Instructor: Janice Robinson, Just Right Alpacas Janice is an Alpaca Rancher and Fiber Artist in Jones, OK. She and her husband John have been raising alpac- as and processing their fiber harvest since 2002. Both Ranches enjoy sharing their passion for Alpacas and this evolving sustainable small acreage lifestyle.
